The Winged Victory of Samothrace, also called the Nike of Samothrace, is a marble sculpture (c. 190 BC) of the Greek goddess Nike (Victory). It stand 8 feet tall and was carved from a single block of marble. In 1863 this ancient masterpiece of Hellenistic monuments was discovered - in pieces – by a French envoy on the island of Samothrace. Since 1884, it has been prominently displayed at the Louvre and is one of the most celebrated sculptures in the world. Our model is a 3D scan of the original, released by the Louvre into the Public Domain in 2014.
